Interesting mechanics, wonderful aesthetic. Is there supposed to be a track playing during gameplay?
My complaints are that the trail collision feels a little off sometimes, and the freeze that happens when you pick up a cassette is pretty jarring, there's no visual or audio cue to go along with it. Levels are pretty nice.

It seems this game suffers from the same mouse drift bug as any other webgl game... It's so annoying!!!

Everything works, is intuitive, and feels like it's got heart. rad game.

absolute classic

was this made with scratch?

Yep

was this actually made recently? This game feels like an absolute blast from the past. Everything about it, the art style, the fonts, the setup, the puzzles, is absolutely nostalgic. reminds me so much of the mid-late 2000s. Any sort of complaint I'd have with this actually works to this game's advantage in my opinion. Thank you for sharing this!!

My first impression of this was not good, so I'm glad I stuck around, because once I found that there actually were powerups and alternate weapons, I had way more fun. Please explain the controls somewhere. I pressed r out of habit, and that just restarts the level.

The art assets are quite nice looking. I like the details, such as all those people running away from the impending chaos at the beginning, and the environmental particle effects.

The camera shake gets incredibly annoying after a little while, but that's a minor complain.

Overall, this is a very decent game. A good 5 minutes of fun.

This is rough, dude. There are no controls stated anywhere, so I honestly don't know how to play this. There's no replay button, so I had to refresh the page each time to check if there is even a way to interact with this. the background image is compressed to hell, and the circle sprites seem to not have mip maps enabled. I can see the crust around them.

I suspect this is one of your first games. Take the time to see what you did poorly, and learn to make it better. There's nowhere to go but up.

EDIT: the reason why I couldn't see any of the buttons was because I never fullscreened the game... that's pretty unfortunate.

I'll admit, I hated my first 3-5 minutes of playing -- I didn't realize how important the layer switching was, because I thought this was like a typical sidescrolling shooter. Once I learned to stop getting hit as much and make it past the second room, the game got a whole lot more fun.

A decently fun experience. Overall, the game design is fine, there are a lot of small bugs, but I didn't encounter anything game breaking.
The pixely post processing and overall art style is pretty unique, but I found it a little hard to tell what was going on at first.
Enemy AI seems a bit odd, and under certain cases, they'll try shooting at you, only to hit a wall.
The weapon selection is pretty cool, but the flamethrower seems especially weak and is almost functionally identical to the smg. Overall, the weapons feel fairly similar.
Since you can't leave floors/rooms until all enemies are dead, it gives the game a sort of roguelite feel, although it looks like the levels are premade and static.

I'll spare you the nitpicks and opinions. I give 7/10
